Possible MCOR trouble?

Hello folks. I come here pretty often for advice but this is my first post. I have read a lot of post similar to my problem but I can't find a definitive scenario and answer. I am trying to help a neighbor fix her cart without spending a lot of money guessing at parts. She has a 2005 precedent that may operate properly but then other times when you push the accelerator it jumps then stalls or it may go a few feet then stop. Other times it may operate fine for a quite a bit of riding then act up. This will happen in both forward and reverse. I have noticed that on the occasions that it does not jump I do not hear the solenoid click at all. When it does jump, the solenoid will click in then click right back out.
I have already replaced the speed sensor which was determined to be bad based on the great information on this sight. The regen was not working on slopes and the cart would not reach full speed. All of that is now corrected but I still have this problem. Based on what I have read, I am now thinking that maybe the MCOR is failing but I would like more input before I throw parts at it.

Years ago I worker on
TVs the most problems I found were loose connections or cold solder joints, same as loose connections. Not always but you can get strange problems with loose connections. First thing I check on anything electric I work on. Just a thought.

I had the same issue with my 2010 precedent. Changed out to the MCOR 3 and it was bad. Changed to MCOR 4 and haven't had an issue since. Hope this helps. If u have a CC dealer close, call them.

Thanks CCC Player. I will give them a call but i wanted to get some input from some of you on the forum first. I do not know anyone at the dealer and I would like to be confident that they are givingg me the right advice rather than trying to sell parts. Not all dealers are like that but....... MRGOLF, I have checked most all of the connections but no luck with that either. Thanks for the support!

I'm not an expert like some of the guys on here for sure. But, one thing I've found is when an MCOR starts acting up, both of my Precedents will start kind of jerking when throttle is applied.
When that happens, I stop the cart and turn off the key. Then I work the gas peddle up and down pretty fast for 5-10 seconds. Then turn the key on and go. What that does is work the little micro switch and the variable resistor to try and clean any dirt out of the connections. It's only a temporary fix, but it can let you know if the problem is with the MCOR or not.

Thanks basshawk! I will give that a try and see if it has any effect. I am not really having a jerk problem. It is more of no go at all or a jump then no go. But, like you said, if it is the MCOR maybe the rapid pedal movement will clean up the contacts and switches for a brief time and help confirm that the MCOR is the problem. I think that in the end I will be buying a MCOR so I can either fix it or move on to the next possible components!
