Default Charger and one of those days

I was taking the cart to a buddy's house to install the battery gauge real quick so I could monitor new batteries when I put them in. Well, I plugged the charger in just before I left and forgot about it. I went out the front door and got in the truck instead of the back door where the charger was plugged in.

Any other day the plug would have come undone at the house right away, particularly when I need it to stay in, but this time it jerked the charger out of the cart before it came out of the house. The charger hooked into about 30 feet of pavement as it stayed hooked into the cart plug. That never came undone. Now my meter is all screwed up. The case took a big beating. I suppose things could be worse, somehow.

Anyway, where can I get another one of those power drive II's real quick or would this be a good time to switch to a charger with its own computer and bypass the OBC? I do have a local CC dealer here and Augusta is not that far.

If bypassing the OBC for a new charger is the answer, how do I do that? I have seen those threads. I'll bet ScottyB's place is the answer and has instructions.

Hooked in? Do you mean that you dragged the charger 30 ft before you realized what was happening?

TO make it even clearer, the cart was in the trailer attached to the truck I put in drive while the charger was plugged in. The lawn sustained a little damage but it will grow back. The drive is fine. I think it is a little more than the little meter thing that is probably shot. But for $25, I will try it. But I really may just go ahead and get the charger from ScottyB.

Good news is I have a buddy who tells me he has two and I can use one until I get one that works. So I am still looking.

The thing is my buddy says he has a PD II, 2 of them actually, and a Powerdrive which would be a PD ONE I suppose. He says the ONE will charge both of his carts so he has 3 useable PD's. He runs carts with 6 8v batteries. Does that make a difference on the PD to use or is the PD II just used on newer carts. We are not even into the PD III scheme of things yet.

By the way Jake, glad I could provide so much cheap humor. It is funny to do stupid things just on occasion. I have to humor myself some too. I could really kick myself in the seat. **** I was stupid.

By the way, would the cart run with the charger plugged in? I'll try that stunt next.
