More power

I have a 2003 cc DS 4 ga cables speed Code 4 , it runs good. I would like to have more speed up hill. The golf course carts all run about 15 mph, I can pass them all on level ground. Going up hill I stay about the speed they are up hill.
I want to push these things out of my way

Would a higher amp controller do the job, or do I need another motor. I cannot think of a better place to get ideals.

amps = torque, not speed per say. so with a higher amp controller, you could add more weight to the cart, 4 people instead of 2, and still have the same speed going uphill. torque will also get you to your top speed faster.

If I replaced My STOCK CONTROLER with a unit that is MODDED with more MOSFET Transistors, will that make My cart have more torque at takeoff, or will it remain about the same

I will be ordering 2 stud kits from you, and I may send My controler to have more MOSFETS installed with FSIP

What is your opinion on this

HP equals torque also. Higher amp controller will allow my motor to pull more amps.

Would a higher HP motor, also do the job with less or equal drain on batteries.

One of the two would do the job I think, but which would be best.

Higher amp controller would allow for larger motor, maybe later.
Higher HP motor would allow for larger controller, maybe later.

If you want more speed get a new motor. Problem is usually it is highly recommended to upgrade the controller at the same time. Getting just a new controller is a waste of money but thats just my opinio

I am happy with my speed. I just want to maintain it going up hill as much as possible.

By allowing the motor to access more amperage it can produce more torque. However, it can only do what it can do. Most stock motors are 2-2.5 hp. and aftermarket motors are 8-12 = big difference. If you have a series cart the best bang for your buck is a voltage increase with the original motor. This requires a new controller, solenoid, cables, and a HD F&R. Your torque will increase about 50% depending upon the controller chosen and speed will increase about 33% or 5 mph.

On a sepex cart you can gain torque with a bigger controller, solenoid, & cables but your speed on this cart is going to stay about the same 20-21mph

The stock 225 amp controllers in these carts really can not allow an aftermarket motor to access enough amperage to perform to its potential.

I have 4 ga cables on my batteries, motor etc. Do the 10 ga wires that go to the f1,f2 or s1,s2 of the motor from the spade connectors on the controller need to be larger also?
