Re: 02 IQ Cart Fire
So this is what I have learned. When I got this cart the motor was in a box all apart. End cap and brushes shot, so ordered new cap with brushes from D&D $90 no big deal. I noticed from the begining the area that comes in contact with the brushes that 2 of the copper strips were a little bent or swelled. So I just filed them back smooth, wrong. They were actually coming off, delam from the armature. When I called D&D they said send it in, I should have! So on last nights run, hauling butt I guess the heat and spining caused one of the copper strips to fully seperate thus destroying brushes and end cap. So my buddy who is paralyzed and has limited leg movent just kept in floored send all the juice through the cart, brake cables prob the least path of resistance so they melted. Controller is fried cause I had no fuse, my fault next time I will know. So I guess i'll call D&D and see what they want to rebuild motor, the controller was a package deal with D&D so do they rebuild controllers also?
Thanks guys. Steve
