Default Towing w/o TowRun Switch?

I've searched around any found plenty of topics about people that towed their carts while left in "Run" mode but none that address my question.

I have a 95 (or 96?) CC DS 48v and there is no tow/run switch. How do I tow the cart if it were to break down or something, without ruining the motor? Is getting the rear wheels off the ground the only way? That could be difficult in the grass.

Thanks

. . . if it were me, I would disconnect the battery pack from the system . . just to be safe . . .

Yeah, I did do that, but that still doesnt stop the wheels from turning the gears/motor...?

If there's no tow run switch then you're good to tow it. I've towed numerous series carts in neutral with the key off and the batteries still hooked up and have never had a problem. Keep in mind however, these were series carts without tow/run switches.

One other thing to consider - the tow run switch, on carts that have them, does not disengage the rear end gears or stop the motor from turning when towed, it is simply an electrical toggle switch that cuts power.

Bottom line: unless you're going to be towing for miles and miles, you'll be fine just towing it, just have the key off. And of course, on carts with tow/run switches, flip it to tow.

Yes, a Run/Tow switch doesn't disconnect any gears, it just cuts power. To tow a series cart, just make sure the key is off and the shift lever is in neutral and you're good to go...

Yeah it's only about a 20 yard tow I was worried about. Thanks guys!
