Club Car Battery Tray Repair
I am helping a friend redo his Club Car. As you probably know, the battery tray is aluminum as is the rest of the cart. The battery tray is corroded and falling apart. We have the resources to go about fixing it several ways. My question is, from anyone's experience, is it easier/better to buy one or fabricate one? If making one, how do you put it in? Weld? Bolt? Thanks for the input.

Re: Club Car Battery Tray Repair
I always used aluminum angle (from the local home improvement place) and drilled holes and riveted them in. I used rivets so that a bolt head would not rub on the case of the batteries, making a hole.

Well I think I know how we will proceed! Thanks for the input guys. Always good to have a place to go for help, even though I'm from a different breed!

Re: Club Car Battery Tray Repair
I'm currently in the same boat. Is there a difference (other than weight) in using steel vs aluminum? Which one might handle the battery environment better?

Some guys spray some runner truck bed liner on them, and that is supposed to help with the corrosion. Bottom line, don't overfill your batteries, so you can prevent over flow and corrosion... |
