2000 club car 48 volt no reverse
Need help with this one, my first electric cart, cart will go forward fine but will not go in reverse . I need a wiring diagram but I cant find one that shows the two big solenoids in it. it is a series type , with rocker switch for f&r that only has two wires on switch. what is all the fiberglass fiber behind the brush plugs from? I tested battey pack shows 50.9 volts . just dosent have reverse is all that is wrong can someone give me a process to check this one out? someone has already replaced 1 of the big solenoids. you do here small solenoid that the positive cable goes to click and the voltage does reach the controller and to the motor. I have not check the ground side yet

Post your serial number and it will help the guys make sure they give you the correct diagram. Crash test dummy usually has very good ones.

Re: 2000 club car 48 volt no reverse
You have a home built reversing contactor.
Sounds like 2 solenoids doing the duty. Post pics and name and model info on the solenoids. |

Re: 2000 club car 48 volt no reverse
Okay - now we know what we are being asked to help with.
While not common, the 2 solenoid reversing contactor setup is not a bad set up. here is a diagram of how it should be wired. (thanks to Rabbit and Roady89) note that in all diagrams the rocker switch has 3 wires. A source and 2 switch legs, one for F and one for R |

Re: 2000 club car 48 volt no reverse
thanks for the wiring diagram, mine was wired like the 3rd oneon the right with battery positive going to the controller and then on to motor-- The ground side going to controller and then on to the dual contactor solenoids, the reason for no reverse was the one remaining OLD solenoid that didn't get changed from the other shop. I replaced it and it gave me reverse.
What is the most likely problem with no power on a hill (takes off real slow)but on flat ground all seems good, I put volt meter on ground side to see what kind of voltage was being applied on hill, with pedal on the floor only 11 volts at take off but as speed comes up volltage goes up (48-50) alll batteries are new and test good , all at 8.40 50.5 volts on the positive side at solenoid and at controler cart is ground side controlled a side note:cart will go foward no matter where the rocker switch is placed f-foward n-foward r-reverse |

Re: 2000 club car 48 volt no reverse
Maybe the rocker switch is wired incorrectly? You have to start somewherte and check all the wiring. To do this you need a reasonable understanding of how a solenoid works. Look for my other posts today I posted how to test a solenoid earlier.
