Default LED battery meter & trim plate install & pic

Since it was raining here this afternoon I decided to go ahead and install the LED battery meter and trim plate that I got from ScottyB. This was very easy to do and doesn't take much mechanical ability at all. I have it on the charger after riding it around some this evening so that's why the voltage is reading high. I feel much better now knowing that I don't have to guess at how much battery power is left and hopefully this will help me take better care of those new Trojan batteries.

I decided to wire it straight to the main battery pack + and - terminals so that it is always lit up. I have been told that it won't draw enough power to drain the batteries and I can glance over at it anytime I walk by it in the garage. I highly recommend this meter to anyone. It costs a few dollars more than the ones you see on Ebay but this does not appear to be a cheap Chinese-made meter. The optional trim plate is also very nice and gives the dash a nice, finished look.

You can get the battery meter and the optional trim plate from ScottyB at Carts Unlimited.

Since y'all are talking about it and I have one, let me ask a question.

First, I just installed mine. When you are taking a reading of the power level, can I assume you do it when the cart is stopped and not moving? When I am moving the power level varies. Is that correct?

OK, that was two questions meant to work as one so I can understand things.

1. Yes
2. Variance when moving is normal and a way to load test the pack
