LED battery meter & trim plate install & pic
Since it was raining here this afternoon I decided to go ahead and install the LED battery meter and trim plate that I got from ScottyB. This was very easy to do and doesn't take much mechanical ability at all. I have it on the charger after riding it around some this evening so that's why the voltage is reading high. I feel much better now knowing that I don't have to guess at how much battery power is left and hopefully this will help me take better care of those new Trojan batteries.
I decided to wire it straight to the main battery pack + and - terminals so that it is always lit up. I have been told that it won't draw enough power to drain the batteries and I can glance over at it anytime I walk by it in the garage. I highly recommend this meter to anyone. It costs a few dollars more than the ones you see on Ebay but this does not appear to be a cheap Chinese-made meter. The optional trim plate is also very nice and gives the dash a nice, finished look. StormH2Oguy |

You can get the battery meter and the optional trim plate from ScottyB at Carts Unlimited.

I've got one too, they are great!
Yes, you are right, the amount they draw is minuscule... |

Re: LED battery meter & trim plate install & pic
Since y'all are talking about it and I have one, let me ask a question.
First, I just installed mine. When you are taking a reading of the power level, can I assume you do it when the cart is stopped and not moving? When I am moving the power level varies. Is that correct? OK, that was two questions meant to work as one so I can understand things. |
