Problem with Brakes
Just got done lifting my 07 Precedent. Everything turned out good, but having problems with one thing. Whenever I push brake pedal, the brakes want to lock up. I checked when I installed lift to make sure that brake cables were not in a bind, and they still don't seem to be but like I said the brakes are wanting to grab. Even when I just try to barely ease the brakes on they lock up and the tires slide. But whenever I release brake they feel free like they are not dragging at all. Any ideas??

Re: Problem with Brakes
Get under the cart and tighten the crap out of the U-bolts holding the axle. Use a breaker bar on your ratchet if need be. Sounds like axle twist to me.

Re: Problem with Brakes
And after you tighten the u-bolts, you might notice the brake pedal is low. When I lifted my Precedent, the cart would stop, but the pedal almost touched the floorboard.
I asked these fine folks for a fix, and learned I needed to adjust the brake cables under the floor mat. All is now good. |

Re: Problem with Brakes
. . . could be experiencing the "short" cable after lifting cart . . I believe it is usually the drivers side . . that is why I asked if it was one wheel or both . .

Re: Problem with Brakes
Thanks for all the help. I am thinking that tightening up the U bolts may help. I did not put a whole lot of torque on them. I will try that first. I think it is both wheels, but not positive so I will check on that as well.
Thanks again guys. I will post some pics of my cart soon. Took it from stock to WOW in about 2 weeks. |
