Default Is It Worth Picking Up????

I can grab a 2008 DS probably pretty cheap.... (I'm sure less than $500)
It's in pretty good shape considering it has been sitting for a while...
Of course the batteries are shot... & gone, as well as the cables..
But everything else seems to be complete & in good order..
I have been wanting to build a big block cart for a while..
Is it worth picking this up for a build?
Or do too many things need to be swapped for the install.... (rear end???)
I can fabricate, & have full access to all welding equipment...
I'm not looking to do this on the cheap.. Just a slow forming project...
Worth it.. Or just pick it up & throw some batteries in it...?

If you can get an 08' for under $1500,and its' nice, you better be running out the door as you read this!!!As for the Big-Block,find a cheap DS gas-cart,and swap out the rear-axle and other misc.parts.My Dad did his Villager-8 Limo last winter. It was Electric,we got a junk DS-gas for almost nothing, and used the rear-axle,fuel-tank,engine cradle,etc...and a 16hp VanGuard. It was pretty simple to swap, and nearly a bolt-in.He doesn't weld, and the only thing I welded on it was the rear-end when he flipped the saddles to lift it.Hope this helps.

I will be talking to the person that has it in the next couple days (not the owner)
Was dropping off a welder to be repaired, & saw it out of the corner of my eye...
Asked what the deal was with it.. & long story short...
People that own it, didn't know you had to actually charge the batteries as well....
I know....
Then split... So cart has been sitting for the last couple of years...
It's a little weathered... But nothing some bumper black, & some cleaning wouldn't fix...
Has a crack in the body.. Which I was quick to point out...
But I believe it is EXACTLY where the OEM headlights would fit... So not worried much about it
Motor is still back there.. & they said the original charger comes with it as well...
I figured that's worth the money right there isn't it??

Charger is worth around $300, so a $200 cart seems pretty good

I figured as much....
They should be done fixing the welder by the end of the week..
Will plant another seed when I go pick it up...
Sounds like the husband ended up with the cart..
Guess winter time is his slow time, so sells a lot of stuff cheap to get by in the winters...
He didn't even want the thing... His wife did...
So he kept it in the split out of spite!!!!
Hope that helps me get it even cheaper!!

I will get some pics while I'm up there grabbing the welder...
Might be a slow purchase being it's about an hour or so away, & I only go up there 1x per week....
AND.... Before it starts..... No, I won't tell you where it's at!!!!
