Default Motor question

Ok since I have my precedent torn down waiting on new harness I began to notice the similar shape and size with my d&d PQ (series) and the factory black stock precedent motor. I really don't under stand the inside of both less with the precedent motor. Is it possible to make the regen ( whatever it's called) to a series motor. It appears to have more mass than a stock 48 volt series motor. My series d&d appears to have a end cap that covered something. Appears to be same size as the stock precedent.

Any inputs?image.jpg

No. The field winding is completely different in a Series Motor since all of the Armature current goes through it.
