Its a Club Car. They are owned by IR. Post the serial number and we can determine if it is an "IQ" cart. If it is, you can pay around 100 bucks and have a Club Car dealer upgrade the controller with speed code 4 ( around 19mph )

If its not an IQ then its a series. Cheapest way to get more speed is to call Plum Quick and get a motor upgrade.

You can put 4 12v batteries in, but they MUST be 12v GOLF CART batteries, not like what goes in a car or boat. You will get a longer run time with the 8v and in my opinion is the way to go.

They should say somewhere on them that they are for a golf cart application. If not, I'd personally go with 6 8 volt golf cart batteries as they will last longer and give a greater run time between charges.

These batts are Alphacell gel 195 GXL I got 5 of themSOUND familiar at all?

free batts mean cheaper price on a cart ...found one stored like new condtion but the po says they are to much money to buy so hes selling me the cart at half the price because of these batteries.

I don't believe those are golf cart batteries, I don't know how well they would take the harsh discharge and recharge cycles that golf cart batteries go through. The pic above is what a 12 V golf cart battery should look like.

Why were they throwing them out? Looks like they are used for outdoor broadband/ wifi units. I'm not sure if they will work but at a couple hundred bucks each usually people don't throw away good batteries. I guess it couldn't hurt to try them and if they don't work out then no wasted money

Also not sure how they would interact with the Club Cars on board computer and charger

Ijust talked with the batterie maker in Washinton state. He shared with me this, these batts are from a cable company , they just get rid of them fairly quickly. they can be used in a cart, the duration of the electric cycle that keeps them going is ABIT shorter in time going down .but they are the kind of batteries that have a storage that stays along time, in case the cable companys transformers quit. they are a " electricity storing battery" more than the average kind that you can keep recharging

They told me they were two years old.and would last a long time yet ,but recharging them comes quicker.I don't plan anything fancy, as far as long distance use.So they say use them. If they work out for a few years ok if they don't i'll get 6 8 volt batts and start over sound good to you guys?/ bob s

cable companys do strange things , i mean $200.00 batts are not used over two years . He says they sit at the top of the poles...jus waiting to get their chance to kick in.when asked to do so.
