jjance, the Excel motor is a EJ8-4001A, Your picture looks like an IQ motor.

jneubig, You said PQ will get your Excel system with a code 3 and stock tires to 25mph with no other changes..., that would be great, please keep us posted.

I'll definitely keep you posted. I am going to pull the motor on Thursday and ship it up to them. I figured it would be a great time as I have it here at the office already. One of our body shop guys is going to paint it for me. I'm also having him work on a quick detach adapter or hinges for the passenger step plate so it will fit in my 8' bed truck with the tailgate closed. We hinged my last cart and it worked perfectly.

Hi

Please note how you shipped the motor and the weight.

Thanks

This is a suggestion for replacing the motor. Remove the body.

That looks like it would make the motor job easy, but on mine it would take several hours to remove the top frames and body. I think I would try going from the bottom first.

I actually will be able to pull it from the top. We are pulling the body for paint on Thursday morning. I'm going to use UPS for shipping. The motor weighs just over 50 pounds and I think they will be the most cost effective method. I'm going to ship ground, so it will probably have 6-7 days both ways in transit. Plum Quick said they can turn it around in 3 days, so I'm thinking 10-12 days total. I'll post when I get her back on the road with top speed findings.

Give them a call. They have some seriously fast motors for EZGO. It all depends on how much your looking to spend.
