Plum Quick Motors

Hi

I would like to swap out motors for a PQ bandit to give me approx 25mph. I have a 2010 Precedent demo never used with brand new Trojan 872 48v.

Presently l have Code 4 but 19.6 mph feels slow.

How difficult is it to take out stock motor and replace the Plum quick bandit
motor.

By the way l am running n 8" tires.

Its pretty easy. Disconnect the cables and 3 or 4 bolts on the motor.

Be sure you put cart in tow and disconnect neg and pos battery cables before you put a wrench to any other electric parts on your cart. If you don't you may be submitting a post on why you cart will not run. The controller does not like sparks at all.

After you put the car in "tow" and disconnect the batteries: when removing the 4 motor wires use two wrenches. One on the nut closest to the motor, and one to loosen the top nut that holds the wire on. If ya don't, when you loosen the top nut you will spin the whole connection, and likely break the wiring inside the motor.

Do the same when connecting the new motor.

You should be able to do the change. Just be careful, also the motor weights about 50 lbs. maybe it would be nice to have a little help. As long as you don't drop it on your head the world want end it you mess it all up. On the other hand it you do the change and everything works good, you will feel good about what you have done. Good luck.

Because of a sport related temporary injury l am glad you noted the engine weighs 50 lbs.

Also to ship it has to cost $. Maybe l will drop it off on my drive to NY and pick it
on the way back.

Very interested to here your results I will be doing to swap this month also. I pulled the motor already very easy even for an amateur like myself.
