Default Slow electric Club Car

Hello,
I just bought a 2003 electric Club Car ( SN: AQ0307-254762) that goes slow (less than 10 mph). According to the previous owner, the batteries are relatively new (used no more than 10 times on the golf course). The cart doesn't move until the accelerator is pressed almost of the way down. It definitely has 6V batteries in it. Maybe a dumb question but any chance that the batteries should be 8V? Or a motor controller issue?

a 48 volt cart should have either 4-12 volt, 6-8 volt or 8-6 volt batteries to make 48 volts. 2 more 6 volts would give it 48 volts and a terrific run time.

2003 CC could have either 36 or 48 volt . most you find are 48 but there is always a chance the a golf course orders news carts with only 36 volt because they don't want to change out there complete charging station

AQ serial is certainly a 48v cart. It is also an IQ cart, meaning it has four speed codes, ranging from 8 mph to 20 mph. I would take it to your nearest dealer and see what setting it is currently on.

I swear I must be reading something wrong but does the original poster say the number of 6 volt batteries that he actually has?

I am reading this on a cell phone so maybe I have missed something.

. . . first things first . . if it actually has 6v batteries, replace them with 8v batteries . . . your whole speed issue could be because you are giving a 48v cart only 36v . . . then troubleshoot from there, if necessary . . .

I agree with Steve, and a 2003 will have the six 8v configuration

I wonder what charger the OP has been using? I wouldn't think a 48v charger would charge a 36v battery pack. If he decides to change to 48v, he'll need a 48v charger too.
