Default Hour meter

Just bought a 1999 CC Villager. It has an hour meter on it that says 700 hours. Is that a lot of hours for an electric golf cart

Depends on when the meter starts, at key on or when rolling.

good point. I'll have to check that out. Say it has 700 hours rolling, is that a lot for a 1999?

For a 1999 model I would wonder how many times it has been rolled over. If it is possible to rollover.

I doubt if it was turned over, it's a 6 digit meter. It reads 00700 .5 hours. I got it from a fancy apartment complex that used it to shuttle people around.

Your right it would have had to be driven about 7000hrs a year to roll over. And there is only about 8000 hrs in a year. On the other hand 700hr works out to be 50 hours a year for 14yrs. Which could mean it sat a lot. Back to the original question I would say that is not a lot of hours.

Let's see, I play golf about 300 days a year, the carts runs I would guess 1 to 2 hours each round. Something like 4 to 600 hours per year. I am on the fifth year on these batteries. BTW I don't get a round in, in that time, there is a lot of waiting.

700 hours at 15 mph is 10,500 miles. In my life that would be 2,625 trips to a grocery store/hunting. Or thereabouts. That would be a load. More likely 5,250 trips for beer over 14+ years. Just thinking.
