Marine Batteries are not golf car batteries, so they may be your problem

No but they are both deep cycle batteries and should work, they will not have the run time that a cart battery has but it should still work to move the cart. Am I correct?

Why everyone seems concerned with the batteries is that when the pedal is pressed, the golf cart batteries may be "dumping" their power into the marine batteries (or maybe the other way around for all we know) and not making its way to the drive system. The pack you described is simply not balanced which is "job-1" on a golf cart.

Total voltage is OK - but its the constant amperage that gets you going. So until you've found a method to eliminate the odd battery combination as the cause, everyone will keep going back to that possibility by default.

If it was dumping the power wouldn't the voltage drop on the volt meter when the pedal is pushed?

Hard to say. You can have lots of volts with little sustainable amps. As I said before you have to eliminate batteries as the cause. At this point they simply aren't off the radar.

Like joesam said, do some testing on solenoid and controller. But no matter what else is wrong your bat situation is no good.

I know the batteries aren't good for the long haul but I would think they would work enuf to test stuff. I will look at different test on here and try them . I just don't want to have to buy new ones before I know what's wrong with it.

That's why I suggested jumper cables from a working cart. That way your just "borrowing" a good set to eliminate the batteries from your troubleshooting list.

Geeez not sure what to suggest. It would be a shame to spend time troubleshooting other stuff without getting over the batt. issue. Not too familiar with Carryall. Is pedal a pot box? What model # controller etc.
