Default Charging voltage on batteries

Testing my new set of batteries, only the 2nd charge, the batteries are reading 10V with the charger on and almost done. Is this too high for my 8V batteries? I hear them cooking, but nothing is hot or even warm to the touch.

Will do, Thanks for the peace of mind. I start getting nervous worrying about the numbers.

Yep, and during the first charge (about 11 hrs) the charger shut off normally. I took a short test drive and plugged back in.

just keep letting the charger go full cycle, takes 12 or so charge/discharge cycles and you,ll notice a difference..............new batteries are approx 75 percent when you put them in....................................
