With 22" tires and speed code 3 I get 19.3+. With code 4 or a speed magnet I get 21+. With a PlumQuick motor, I've gotten over 28 MPH with my newest PQ motor, (just installed yesterday and on flat cement surface,) but normally around 25-26 MPH, all of the above using a Garmin.

So you definitely have something wrong with your setup.
Thanks for the info. I will check the voltage. By the way I have stock tires 18X8.50X8.

Since Your cart can do 17mph, batteries and motor problems would not explain why it would only do 13mph on code 3.

Most likely the "Speed Calibration" setting is wrong in the Curtis controller. I read here that some dealers (or whoever programmed your controller) don't understand what that number means and "turn it up".

The "Speed Calibration" setting should be: 0

For each number increase in that setting, Your max speed goes down 0.1mph. If it is set to 20, your are reducing your top speed by 2mph.

Can you have the dealer check that setting for you?

That's correct, 0-10 :)

And the speed calibration goes by .12 mph so a 10 speed cal setting would slow you down 1.2 mph max.

It may be a misprint and I have never personally used an IQDM to verify it, but the 2009-2011 Precedent Service manual lists your numbers for the IQ system, and mine for the Excel system.

You're right!

My info is for the IQ system taken from a 06-07 manual as well as my IQDM.

So I can't quote for the excel system.

I am sure my dealer can check the setting. When he programmed the controller with code 4 I test drove my cart checking the speed with my Garmin gps and it only showed the 13 to 17 increase. I questioned him and they carried back in the shop and rechecked it. According to the dealer all things were set. I had them remove the slow down brake at the same time. According the all I have read the cart should have been running around 15mph with the code 3 and with a personal code increase it should have gone to 19-21mph. I checked my tire pressure, brakes, and batteries. All seem to check out okay. I am not sure why the cart was running 13mph at the beginning. I purchased the cart recently from an individual. The cart came off a lease to a golf club.

I inflated my tire pressure to 20 lbs today and I got 18mph out of the cart.

I will contact my dealer next week and ask him about the speed calibration setting. Thanks for you input. I am a total green hand with the controller cart.

With 0 gauge cables and bigger tires I get 18mph, have no idea what program is in it. I wouldnt mind a little more top speed but would definitely like more torque. Would just a motor change do that?

I had my CC dealer recheck my cart completely. The computer showed 100% on the MCOR, speed code 4, and 0 on the fine speed adjustment. He checked the batteries and believe my problem is with the batteries. The load test showed the batteries dropping 3 volts in 18 seconds. Specific gravity test showed a couple of cells 12.4. My batteries were charged completely before the test. I have checked the batteries with my hydrometer and get a reading of 1.250 on all cells except on 2 batteries I have 2 cells each reading 1.275. Voltage for all was 50.4 Then I ran my cart for 1 hour ,about 9 miles, at 80% throttle and checked the voltage. It was at 49 volts with the specific gravity on all the cells at 1.210. Does anyone have any thoughts on the batteries?

Thanks in advance
