clubcar runs in reverse

I have a 93 club car that when I put it in forward , it runs forward with all speed controls.
when I shift the f/r to reverse it goes reverse 1/2 speed but, no throttle control, no stop, just goes.
I have remover the white wire from the solenoid to the f/r , still same problem goes reverse.
I removed the purple wire (i think) from the passenger side of the f/r swivel, if I touch it to any battery pack post it goes reverse at a different speed depending on what battery I contact.
The solenoid is working properly in forward , in reverse it clicks but no control.
I'm leaning towards a wire in the wrong place but the diagrams I see don't give a good view of the f/r wire placement.
Cart has resistor coils with one solenoid.

Your Thoughts?
