I tried to find specs for your motor, but didn't have much success. Seems like CC wants to keep their manuals to themselves!
I was going to suggest marking and removing the motor cables (make sure to hold the bottom nut so the studs don't turn), and measure the armature and field resistances. Also measure the resistance to the motor case from the armature and field to see if you have a short to the case. One of the other members may know what the values should be, but I'd post up a pic of your motor tag just to be sure.
I have a 93 DS that I'm working on that I'd be glad to take these measurements from for you. I won't be able to do it until tomorrow, though. The cart runs fine so if the motors are comparable, you'll have something to go on.

Thanks simple,

I am a hs shop teacher and past engineering and technology teacher. I have plenty of tools available to me. However, school starts back on Tuesday. As soon as I can get a trailer loaded and the new vglide I will take it back to my shop. It is currently at the golf course in a private shed. Again it will take me a day or two to get back with you. Thanks

I understand. Here's what I took readings from:

A1 to A2 - .8Ω
S1 to S2 - .1Ω
S1 to A1 - 1.48MΩ
A1 to case - 1.2MΩ
S1 to case - .37MΩ
I hope this helps!
