Default Club Car DS new shocks?!!?!?!

I replaced the shocks on my CC DS after doing some front-end work because they felt like they were totally plush. You could just push them all the way in with what felt like no resistance. So, I get the new OEM CC shocks in, same thing! what's the deal? Isn't there supposed to be a "spring" like effect when pushing these inward?!?!?!?!

Shock absorbers react to amount of force applied. A bump in the road will cause shock to react differently than you manually compressing the cylinder. . .

Club car shocks are more like dampers. They do not act like a car shock that has resistance. I always wanted to find a car shock that could interchange...but I bet the ride would be stiffer.

I found Monroe Gas-matic for the back of my ds . don't seem to be any different then the stock ones seeing that I already HD leaf springs . haven't looked into front yet .

Gas-Shocks will be a lot stiffer compared to an Oil-Filled when you try to compress them. They will provide a firmer ride as well, unless you have stiff suspension, then you likely won't notice a difference.

I can't remember exactly, but I believe my 95CCDS rear shocks replacements were equivalent to a 80's something chavelle? And on the front, no spring....just dampeners as was mentioned. Your just taking the bump/impact out of the road. Depending on your cart...real shocks could bounce you off the road!!!! Bolt on a long travel if your really bothered....
