Default yellow battery light

I have a 2007 club car precedent when riding and letting off pedal yellow light come on! when u push pedal again light goes off! as long as u riging with pedal pushed light stays off. when u stop and turn key off light stays on for about 30 seconds. is this normal? I also have a 2007 ds and the lighty has never came on in that cart! It seems to run fine and talked with some people around here and they say this is normal. I'm not sure! any thoughts on this? I was thinking about just unhooking light!

Will it hurt to unhook light?

. . I would be more concerned with finding out why the battery light is coming on . . it normally indicates a problem of sorts . . .

My batteries were slowly (but surely) reaching end-of-life last year, and that is exactly what mine was doing after about 14 holes of golf. The light is either out-of-circuit or power is too low to illuminate it when the pedal is pushed.

But when you let off, it is telling you that battery voltage has dropped below an acceptable level for operation. After "recovering" for 30 seconds or so, the voltage slowly rises in the batteries and the light goes out.

I'm thinking there is a (better than) 90% chance your batteries have become very weak and are due for replacement. Take some voltage measurements to confirm.

the batteries are 2011 and have had them checked by a golf cart dealer and said was fine. also they checked and said light operation was normal which I do not believe to be correct. cart charges up fine pulls great and runs 18 mph with 22" tires!

We'll that light on-light off operation is not normal. Just to be certain I would attach a digital volt meter to each battery (separately) and measure volts of each while driving up a hill. If they check out (without a large variation between them, then I would suspect the light indicator circuit is at fault and will need troubleshooting. I'm afraid someone else will have to advise how that might be done. Its really worth a more critical check of each battery before moving on, though.

Likely a loose or corroded connection somewhere in the circuit.
