converting 36v to 48v DS series cart
I work on 36v series and some IQ models but I need to know exactly what I need to convert a 36 v cart to a simple 48 v cart . Can I do it without using an OBC and just a pot. and controller. I also plan on raising the cart and using a high speed motor. I need to know the make/model of the parts needed and where I can buy them. Thanks Bernie

You just chummed the water. Let wait for the conversion sharks to start feeding. Get ready it's not cheap or simple.

Re: converting 36v to 48v DS series cart
Not sure ,BUT I don't think you can convert an IQ cart to 36 volt, or put a 36 volt motor on one. At least that is what I have concluded from reading this forums.
On edit, maybe I didn't read close enough, you want to go the other way. |

I know it's not going to be cheep but I want to get the extra AHs by using 8volt batteries or I may even go with lithium batteries. I want this for over the road use

You can bypass the OBC if you get a 48v smart charger like DPI

Everything you need to know is here at
Carts Unlimited solid state conversion kits on my web site. This kit will includes everything needed between the keyswitch and the motor. You can have a very reliable 48v series cart with this conversion. You will need a good quality HD 4g or 2g cable set depending upon the controller size you choose & your application Email with any questions you may have at scottyb@cartsunlimited.net |
