Did you keep the 2 wires that were together still taped together? Sorry, but just in case, battery is connected again right?

Are you sure how those wires were connected? The diagram I saw shows a orange/white in one side and a brown on the other. Disconnecting them has no effect whatsoever on the cart ability to run... Did you by any chance take a picture before you disconnected the wires?

I didn't take a picture, but my cart has three small wires: red, orange/white, and brown.

Here is the wiring diagram, orange/white and brown should not have been together or it is a short.

That's not my cart. Mine has a separate coil mounted on the frame connected by green wires. And the solenoid has three small wires as mentioned.

I put things back to the way they were and now nothing still. Only one click when pushing pedal- how many should I hear?

The red was with the orange/white! The brown was by itself...
