Ok it looks like you've got a series cart, and there is no run /tow switch.
Now to figure out the throttle type. Is there a black pie shaped box between the batteries, or is there a little black box under the go pedal underneath the cart?

I did not see anything by the batteries and I cant get my fat head under the cart to see. If I cant get it fixed by wednesday I will have it hauled to the shop

I believe it has been determined that this is a series cart. Therefore no run/tow switch. Plus, looking at the photo suggests it doesn't have V-glide either. Most likely a Pot-Box under the floor boards.

96 did use the type 1 potentiometer mounted under the car at the throttle pedal. Take it to the shop. This is not a repair task for the uninitiated.
