Question Precedent Seat

My boys and I recently got a 2010 Precedent to do a build together; lil bonding time. Not knowing the first thing about carts, my wife says I've become addicted to this forum.

Today we installed seat covers over the stock seat. Now we can't get the brackets to seat in the slot on the front side of the battery compartment. I cut out around the channels but the brackets still "pop" out of the slot.

We CAN'T be the first to experience this. Not sure what to do. Didn't know if maybe fabricaing a thin piece of metal to put under the receiving slots to raise them would work or create new problems.

Suggestions or sharing personal experience is much appreciated.

I took the metal brackets off of mine covered the seat and installed over new seat cover. Had no problem with them working

. . . if it were me, I would attempt to add shims under the seat bracket the same thickness as the new material installed to "shim down" the bracket so it connects to bracket in battery compartment . . .

I agree with Texan. Holds the front of the covers in place and alleviates the fit problem.
