05 clubcar factory slow.. Will it go fast?
I have a 05 club car (vin#AQ0519-503393) that was a refurbished unit with new battery's last year. Since I purchased it I have had it lifted, new top, lights, push bar, stereo, horn, wheels and tires. I am now at the point of wanting it to go faster.
I took my cart to Graham's golf cart in Myrtle Beach and the tech there (great guy) plugged it up and said she is already turned up. He adjusted the gas peddle and that was it. I have stalked this board a few weeks- but seem to get hit or miss info, so I thought I would ask. Not looking to break speed records, but 16 mph is rough.. Even the MB police have gotten onto me for holding back traffic on Ocean blvd.. My budget is about a grand. Less is better, but I am ok if it hits it. I am very mechanically savvy, so a little dirty work does not bother me.. Any help? |

Re: 05 clubcar factory slow.. Will it go fast?
Speed code 4 should get you about 19 MPH. With the larger tires I would think around 21-22.
Is there a sticker on the dash next to the serial number with "code a code b code c" on it? It sounds like it is not set to code 4 but to code 3 |

No sticker. Just the patent sticker. Could it be located somewhere else?

remove the access panel on the rear body. You will see the gray/black controller cover. Let us know if there is a decal like Steve posted there. It sounds like your cart is NOT set to code 4

On my cart the sticker with the 3 codes is located under the dash cubby (see pic arrow). I would say your cart does not have code 4, since they usually put the sticker near the serial sticker.
But I would go ahead and check the controller area like Sunoco said, especially since your shop said it was "turned up". |

May be "turned up" to speed code 3!
