looking for advice on my cart for pushing my race car
I have an older 36volt DS cart. It needs some luv. I want to use the cart to push my race car 3000lbs. I plan to fad up a push bar (no biggie). the cart has 3 car batteries so they will need to be swapped out
My questions/over view: Thinking about going 48 volts; can I modify my charger from 36 to48v? I am confused on what i need to replace to go 48 volts (besides the batteries and calbes) can a 36 volt cart go to 72 volts? I plan to lower the cart and add nice wheels and low profile tires Ok so what do I need to do to make this cart perform well for pushing my race car and riding around the pits and neighborhood? Thanks guys |

Re: looking for advice on my cart for pushing my race car
First off, no you cant modify the 36v charger, you would have to get a 48v charger...
You can upgrade to whatever voltage you want, but 48v upgrades are the most common. A 36v motor (which you have) actually produces 33% more torque and speed on 48v. I would get with Scottyb (cartsunlimited.net) and tell him what you want to do and he will set you up. I personally think upgrading to 48v and keeping your 36v motor in there is your best bet... |
