Cart prep time
Even though theres still 4 feet of snow on the ground up here, Im starting to get the cart ready. I got a new set of batteries (old owner put 4-12s in it, I bought 6-8v). I need to get new cables. Thinking 4 ga would be fine as it will primarily used on the golf course. Probably going with Scotty B's cables. My question(s) are: should I replace the F/R assembly. It seems kind of fubar..you have to kind of "find" reverse but it definitely still works. What else should I look at replacing while Im at it. thanks.

Re: Cart prep time
Cables, check
F&R, check Be sure hold down rods are good, and tray is good. 4ga cables are good, and good idea to put new cables with new batts. Also check tires. Check all other terminals attached to your batts (lights, ect). Be sure to check your batt terminals for tightness after the first few weeks of use. |

Re: Cart prep time
Thanks for the info..Im going to put new wheels/tires on it...a CF dash, lights and maybe a stereo (not sure about that yet). I know I have to put a voltage reducer in it for the lights.. The battery tray looks fine. the old owner just put 2x8s in there to hold the 12v batteries. I do need to buy new tie downs though. Its amazing to me that 6 batteries fit in there. Would it be beneficial to put a "skid plate" under the batteries to keep crap off the batteries or is the open air a good way to keep batteries cool?

Re: Cart prep time
I would not put anything under the batts, you will want to wash them occasionally, and want all acid and dirt to have a way to escape out the bottom.
