Good news, apparently in 2008 there was a lot of changes going on with the controller, battery packs was changed to 6 8v a few months later than mine, so I'll need to do that conversion later but these Trojans 1275s are new so I'll wait that until they are done to convert.

So I want the IQ system right? The seller thinks the serial number starts with IQ.

Yes if it is a Precedent it will be PQ, if it's a DS it will be AQ.

And yes, you want the IQ system...

Ok, now I'm confused. I thought the serial number would start with IQ or PH. Now I see PQ and AQ. How do I make sure I'm getting the IQ system? Unfortunately this cart is 2 hours away from me, so it's tough to roll over and check it out.

Definitely do what Steve said and get the serial number before you go.
The PDF file in Steve's link is a good one, it has every letter decoded...

Listen to me I know what I'm talking about. don't listen to anyone that doesn't have this cart. You either have a IQ or a Ph cart. In 2008 club car changed over to the i2 excel version. If it's a IQ your good. If it's a PH you will have to change the wire harness to an IQ or just get the controller that I got from fsip. Fsip is the company that makes a controller for the PH i2 excel cart. If you have any other question just message me.

One thing we need to clarify is what model of cart Onebean is looking at.

Is it a DS like this:

Or a Precedent like this:

Ideally you want an IQ model for easier upgradability.

If it is a DS IQ the serial number will have the following format: AQXXXX-XXXXXX.
If it is a Precedent IQ it will be this: PQXXXX-XXXXXX.
It's that simple.

Now for the Excel drive system. There is no such thing as a DS Excel, so nothing to worry about. If it is a Precedent Excel, the serial will look like this: PHXXXX-XXXXXX.

And mine is an Excel Drive System and My serial numbers are like this
PH1108-XXXXX that is a 2011 Excel System
PD1248-XXXXX that is a 2012 Excel System
PD1251-XXXXX that is a 2013 Excel System

I called FISP about a larger controller, and they had nothing available at the time that was just Plug n Play for the Excel Drive System

That is why Rick is working on it, but as of yet he hasn't made any progress
