Default 4-12v Batteries

How many miles could you realisticly go on flat ground with 4-12v compared to 6-8v batteries ?

All depends on the Amp Hour Ratings. Compare them! In General, 8V batteries have a higher Amp Hour rating than 12V batteries. How far you can go is subject to many variables but higher AH means more stored energy given the same total battery voltage.

I have carts with both. I routinely get 20-25 miles out of the 4-12's and 25-30 mile's out of the 6-8's.

Again I say that you need to compare AH ratings! If they were the same, you would get about the same range with either. In general, the AH ratings of the 8V will be higher than the 12V.

My Trojans are the 1275's much more than when they originally started using 12v batteries, if this helps.

To Get maximum range go with six volt batts they have the highest amp hr rating period
Example 8 - 6 volt 260 amp/hr batts
