Default Cable passing through that hole?

Rookie question...I was talking to a guy about how one of the battery cables needs to pass through that hole or else the charger won't work. My question is If I go with bigger cables how do i get it through the hole with larger diameter cables and a connector? Can I make the hole slightly larger?

Talking Re: Cable passing through that hole?

Check with Scottyb
He sells a Bolt-Thru connector just for that
Not too expensive either

#4 wire will carry anything that the motor can possibly ask for too
I see NO NEED for the #2 wire at all, unless you are planning to go DRAG RACING with your cart and need to pull over 500 amps
500 amps will DESTROY a stock motor in most cases, and probably ruin your battery pack

This is just my OPINION, and I am sure I will get admonished for saying it too

Do NOT make the hole larger. There are pass through stud kits sold as mentioned above or if you do a search, you will find several threads which show you how to simply make you own.

. . . . enlarging the "hole" in the On Board Computer will destroy the computer . . .

I agree completely
Scottyb sells a great product just for this
I got mine at Handyman Hardware in New Iberia, La.
But, not everyone lives in New Iberia, La.
And Scottyb will ship anywhere and his part is Top Notch
My friend showed the one he got from Scottyb after I got mine
They are the exact same part and Scottyb's is cheaper

aHH That is simple enough, thanks for the information and the link to that thread, I can make that but maybe easier to just buy it with my next order :)

Dale right now I have 6g wire, I want to upgrade the system so If I replace the wires i can make what I need easy enough, 2g shouldn't be much more difficult to do, the motor will not draw more than it can handle unless you push high voltage through it and burn it up lol. I did email scottyb last night so I'll just talk to him about that also.

You can also leave the existing wire in place and run another 2 guage cable around the obc.
It worked for me many years, Now i have a smart charger and completely bypassed the obc.

Wow!!! Am I glad I found this site!!! I recently upgraded the cables on my '07 CC ds to 2 ga. and couldn't get the cable through the hole of what I now know is the OBC. I ran the cable around it. Have I damaged the OBC?

what size stud do you use for the pass through?

Farm buggy I don't think you hurt anything just that your charger may not come on unless it goes through the obc to detect current. You may not need it if it charges.

By-passing the OBC may have worked on old versions of the OBC, but don't do it. I posted this last year.

Why You should not bypass the OBC
