Push cart build
I bought an older Club car to push my race car around in the pits. I have a 3000lbs drag car. It wasn't up to the task that way it was. what do i do???? MODIFY IT!!!!
Plan: Take the cart apart clean everything Replace all to crappy bolts convert from 36v to 48 Upgrade the battery cables (carts unlimited) replace the 3 12volt car batteries with 6 8volt Golf cart batteries Upgrade the controller(carts unlimited) Upgrade the F/R switch(carts unlimited) replace the wheels for 12" wheels and low profile tires Lower the cart 3" flip front spring and lower block for the rear Diamond plate Floor, side rails and pedals Billet Steering wheel Make a custom push bar (better to push race cars than pull them) I am looking for better seat Any have any suggestions? Also want a low profile windshield like a roadster where to get that too? |

Re: Push cart build
When you go 12s with lo pro tires, be aware that if you change the overall height of the tire and wheel combo that you'll gain speed, but lose torque. For your application just be sure the new tires aren't over 18" tall so you don't lose torque, you'll need it for pushing that awesome Camaro.
The seat can be replaced by one like it or a newer style one with the black hip restraints if you like that look - check a local cart shop for a cheap used one or look under the site sponsors tab to see what the sponsors have. If you go to the new style seat I'd upgrade to the new style seat backs as well, they're one piece and resist vibration and wobbling more than the old two part backs. The windshield you're wanting is called a sport windshield - the site sponsors carry them. Here's a link to the sponsors page. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/site-sponsors.php |

Re: Push cart build
Thanks for the advise. Yes I made sure the wheel and tire combo was 18", ScottyB had the same concern.
Thanks for the props on the Camaro |

Re: Push cart build
Please post pics as the build goes. Your Camaro looks great, I can't wait to see the lowered matching cart pushing the Home Run Bread winning Camaro.
