What batteries are the best?
I have a precedent with a 500amp controller and plum quick executioner motor. I might have another year on the batteries or so. It's a 2010 cart with the factory batteries still, and just want to know what should I replace them with? Money isn't an issue I'm not trying to save buck, I just want to replace them with the best, Any suggestions?

Re: What batteries are the best?
This is one of those questions where you'll get varied responses on brand from lots of folks. The straight answer: find the highest amp-hour rated batteries possible. I don't know if you've got the 4 12 volt battery setup or not, but if you do then you'll want to convert to 6 8 volt batteries for good performance and life. If you want the "best" of those things then go with 8 6 volt batteries.
Trojan seems to be the manufacturer of choice, here's a link to their site: http://www.trojanbattery.com/markets...ility-vehicle/ Lots of good research to be done on there about their batteries. I personally have had good luck with batteries from Sam's Club - they've worked for me just fine (with proper maintenance, of course) for many years. For a built cart like yours are these the "best?" Probably not, but I've never had trouble. If money is no object, Trojans are, IMO, the way to go, just buy the biggest amp-hour rated one you can and then take care of them and you'll get great life out of them. |

Re: What batteries are the best?
with 93 , go with the highest amp/hr 6 volt you can afford ( best pkg is 8 -6 volt packs ) I prefer Crown battery over Trojan they have the thickest lead plates in the industry , I use them in my set up
48. Volt pack made up of 8-6 volt 260 -amp/hr rating Cheers! |

Re: What batteries are the best?
If money is no object you might consider maintenance free batteries and not have to be constantly putting water in them.
Also while some batteries have the same amp ratings I have heard that some withstand less than optimum care than other brands. I've got dekas as I've heard them to be a good brand but I'm not sure I'll get them next time. I was going to get the maintenance free but budget didn't allow. |

Re: What batteries are the best?
I like the Crown CR190
They have a higher amp hour capacity that is equal to the Trojan T890. Amp hour rating is more important than initial cost. Poor performance lasts longer than the satisfaction of low cost. Do your own comparison below. Amp hour rating is how much fuel the battery can hold for your cart. |

Re: What batteries are the best?
I have had two brands- Interstate and Trojan and have been pleased with each. Maintenance is everything when it comes to batts...

Re: What batteries are the best?
I just checked voltage on one of my 8v batteries with a volt meter. And it showed 17.3 volts? Is that too high ?
