Default 97 DS Club Car Slow to move Jerking at times

Hello all,

I have a 1997 Club Car serial number A9701-552436

I picked this jewel for nothing with no batteries, not even cores and no charger.

My buddy owns a boat shop and got me a set of 6 new Continental 8 volt batteries at cost and no core charges. I bought a new after market charger and completed the bypass as shown with the chargers instructions.

51 volts across the pack when charged, all batteries showing 8.6 volts and are even.

Cart moves very slowly and at any throttle position it seems like someone is turning a switch off and on. Same in forward and reverse.

I took the solenoid off the mount, jumped the small red with small white/black to the positive and the cart takes off full speed.

I jumped the two big wires on the solenoid and pressed the throttle and it acts the same.

Having trouble finding the procedure to trouble shoot the computer, controller, and throttle.

Where should I start?

Thanks everyone, for all the great info, looking forward to this build.

It is a 48v cart right?
I would check the v-glide, which is the throttle control pie shaped box between the batteries. Make sure the arm is sweeping the full motion across all of the copper contacts.
