36v to 48v Wiring questions

I have a 1998 36v CC I am upgrading it to 48v and I ordered a new 48V F&R switch, 48v V-Glide and 48v Solenoid off of ebay and got them all for $100.
The 48v V-Glide is different then the 36v original, the 48v has two extra wires coming out the back and when i took off the back cover there were what looked liked resistors connected to each terminal. The question is do i need to remove the resistors and the two extra wires since i am connecting my cables directly to the resistor coils and not a controller and also the only two wires that i need to connect are the two that are connected to the Micro switch in the V-Glide. Correct?
As for the Solenoid In the wiring diagrams it is hard to see where it is connected. The Solenoid that i have is square and has 2 large post and two small flat male connections w/ one having a (+) next to it. My question is what do each of these terminals connect to?

1998 resistor coil cart? I was surprised by this because I have 89 CCs that are resistor coil carts and 95 CCs that are controller carts?

Scotty-- the latest vehicle I've worked on with coils was a 2004. They are cheaper to produce so they kept them in service for cheap courses. Controllers started being offered in like 94 I think, when they came out with the 48v line they cancelled the 36v controller line soon after.

Thanks, that makes sense. There is hardley a better system than resistor coils and v-glide IMHO....

Those old systems are really reliable, easy to work on and cheap to repair. Pretty darn bullet proof.

Ok here goes, I just got a 94 club car from a customer "barter" for what equals about $400. It is a 36v with v glide and resister coils. I will only be using this cart around my yard...tops 2-3 miles a week. I am on a very tight budget and will be using 12v marine deep cycl batteries because a freind can hook me up with 4 of them for $300 {sears dude}. Question is how do I wire them and how can use the 36v charger it came with and my regular sears 12v charger? Also must I change the soleniod too? TIA

You put 3 12 volters in it, your at 36 volts, hook em up + to - and use your 36 volt charger. No need for the 12 volt charger. Ah just looked up and you want to put 4 12 volters in it, making it 48 volts. For 2 to 3 miles a week i would use 3 12 volters and save the hassle of having to charge the xtra battery.

If you decide to use the extra battery for 48v then you will need a 48v solenoid to be safe...... If saftey is not your biggest priority,,,, you can try the 36v solenoid on 48v... some will make it & some will not...they can fry open or closed.

Thanks....looks like just keeping it simple out of the gate....or should I say super simple will be the low budget way to go.....I am going to try it with just 3x12v cost $225 and will report back with what type of run time i get.....the weight savings cant hurt either...about 185 lbs or the equivalent of another adult passenger......
