Just a quick question
I am trying to become smarter on the electrical side of things but I bought a 36v to 12v 30amp voltage reducer to run my lights and radio/speakers(Future). I have the hot and ground going straight to the main pos and main neg of the battery pack. Is this okay or do I have something to worry about?
Thanks |

Re: Just a quick question
The way you have it now the reducer will always be pulling power from your pack and will drain the batteries if left sitting. Does your reducer have a trigger wire for an on/off switch? If not, you can put one inline on the hot lead. It should be on a switch, so it doesn't constantly drain the pack...

Re: Just a quick question
Okay, I guess I will disconnect it from the batteries until I get a toggle switch.

Re: Just a quick question
I agree with Crash to use the key switch. That way when the cart is on the reducer is on, the cart is off, reducer is off...

Re: Just a quick question
Sounds good, I will do that. But just so I understand, I will take the lead off the main neg off the battery and wire that to the neg side of the key switch?
