How to convert cart to 3 wire 48v charging
I am sure this has been covered but could find any answer with the search function or I am just not using the correct combination of words
I have upgraded my resistor cart to an electronic 48 volt cart. i bought a 48 volt charger but didnt realize it is 3 wire. Is there a way to convert my cart (not the charger) to accept the 3 wire and have the automatic shut off of the charger work too? Thanks for the help |

Re: How to convert cart to 3 wire 48v charging
I don't think you're going to be able to make a 48 volt stock charger work unless you have an OBC (on board computer) on your cart. There has to be a way around it, I'm sure others will be along shortly.
I'll go ahead and put this out there cause I know it'll come up: scottyb sells DPI chargers that are said to be the best charger out there. They don't need an OBC to operate. |

Re: How to convert cart to 3 wire 48v charging
There was a conversion kit produced for these chargers. I don't know who carries them but they are available. Add to the cost either a new cord end or cart receptacle.... and you might want to sell what you have and get the right 48v charger.

Re: How to convert cart to 3 wire 48v charging
If this is what you mean, then Golf Cart King has them.
http://www.golfcartking.com/mobile/P...ductCode=30931 You'd still need a receptacle that fits your charger for the cart though. EDIT: I'm mobile, so in case that link doesn't work just go to Golfcartking.com and look under chargers and parts, then Club Car Chargers, then it's a blue box and its called an in charger OBC or something like that. |

No the plug for the 36v won't work. You still need the round 48v receptacle
