Problem that just started with CC DS 48v

First off I am a new user. I like to say hello. I have been monitoring the forums and can see there are a lot of knowledgable users. My problem - I recently purchased a 2004 Club Car DS. It was fully charged when I purchased it. I used it a couple time around my block and hooked up the powerdrive2 charger every time after use. It never would turn on. Finally my orange light started coming on after using a month here and there around my house. The charger never came on the whole time. I brought the cart to my shop to install rims, a lift kit and to paint. We stripped the body panels, roof, and seats. We left the batteries in but disconnected the main + & - and we also disconnected shifter and charge port. I believe the cart was in tow mode but not 100% sure. While apart, I received a Stanley charger I ordered through SAMs club. I hooked up to the mains and pulled 47.3 volts. I charged the batteries overnight until the charger read full. After everything was completed we reinstalled all items. Once everything was installed I tried the cart. Turned the key on, made sure it was set to run, switched to forward and pressed the throttle. You could here the throttle click and the solenoid click and a high pitched sound of the motor but the cart would rock slightly but not move. I checked the voltage of the pack with the charger and it read 51.6. Each 8VGC battery read 8.6. I cleaned all terminals. I made sure to recheck everything and it is all the way it was. I disconnected the main negative one more time and reconnected. The cart moved an inch. Also the orange light came on and cycled twice before not flashing again. I'm truly stumped as the cart worked perfect before. The powerdrive2 charger is from 03 so I believe it is just bad. Even though it supposedly had just charged the cart before I bought it. Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Got a question for you. When you plugged up your powerdrive2 charger to your cart, do you remember if the charger clicked at all or was it just sitting there? The reason I ask, if it just sat there, it sounds like there may be a problem with your on board computer. Normally when a charger clicks when plugged up but doesn't do anything, it is a problem with the charger....the obc (on board computer) told it to do something, hence the click. It sounds like either the obc is not acting normally and allowing the controller to power up OR it may be a controller issue.

One other thing too, verify all your wiring is correct with the schematics in the sticky section. In the mean time, Let some of the other guys chime in here and try to help you. I am better at diagnosing with a meter in hand and the cart in front of me! Others have more knowledge than I do.

to check to see if its the obc....disconnect the yellow fuse link on back of the charge plug receptacle, and with the charger plugged into the cart....run a jumper wire form the fuse in the fuse link to the main ground. if the needle on the charger jumps a bit....obc is bad. also...check the grey wire on the back of the receptacle. pull it slightly. ive had that happen a ton of times where the wire is broken off right inside the receptacle. if thats the case...just need a new receptacle.

Both the "no Charge" and no run conditions you describe are OBC issues. The OBC provides the negative for the solenoid activation thus no run. It provides signal and negative circuit path for the charging system. Test as per DJ's suggestion. You can permanently bypass the run circuit( I would) and bypass the computer with an auto-timer on series cars. Better solution than replacing an OBC for the same or less money.

Thanks. In the morning I will give that a try. As for the charger, it did absolutely nothing as if it wasn't even plugged in.
