Default Will it work???

Current cart: 1999 Club Car DS 48v Series. All stock including stock rear seat.

Found the following offer on CL here locally and am thinking of making the swap. I would like to get the collectives opinion before I move forward.

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/pts/4309397737.html
  1. Will this setup work with my cart?
  2. Will I need any additional parts to complete the swap?
  3. Pro's/Con's?
  4. Should this be a simple swap or a headache?
  5. Is the asking price a good deal?
  6. Anything I should watch out for when inspecting the "drive-line and motor" for sale?

Wanting to do the swap for the speed increase ONLY.

Thanks in advance.
PS: If anyone out there has a 10 spline 36v motor, I'm in the market.

IMO I don't believe it will go 25 mph all stock.

Would you care to share what you think it can achieve in stock configuration? Anything better then the 11 mph my worn out motor (batteries are fine) is currently getting would be an improvement.

Putting that axle in your cart would be much more work than just putting a 36v motor in your current axle. We need a little more info on your cart. Is it a series or regen? If it has a Run/Tow switch and/or a rocker switch for the FR switch, it's a regen. If it has a shift knob, it's series.

I wouldn't swap my axle for that...

. . . if it were me, before throwing in the towel, I would be:

1. Checking all my throttle linkage to ensure MCOR is reaching full output.
2. Checking to make sure it is set for at least speed code 3 (14.8 mph) or upping it to speed code 4 (19.6 mph).

. . .

Whoops
How fast are you wanting to go? I would simply upgrade the motor to get more speed. Does your cart have the v-glide throttle?

Thanks for responding, to all the other responders as well. Nice place you have here.

Not wanting to break any land speed records or smoke tires but 20-25mph would be ideal. Also not wanting to break the bank. Dropping $1000+ on solenoids, speed controller and a motor is not an option. Just like everyone else, I want the most go for the least dough. Ideally I would just slap a 36v motor in there and get desired results HOWEVER, those 36v motors are tough little suckers to find (those that have them don't want to part with them).

V-Glide throttle is confirmed.

I would recommend a PQ Bandit for $225. The website says speed up to 25mph and a 25% increase in torque. That is with everything stock too...
