Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
my cart batteries show 50% charge after i drive it maybe a mile. that reading comes from the state of charge meter. Its a 48volt cart, 400 amp alltrax with stock motor. just installed new crown batteries 1 month ago and they have been threw about 15 charge cycles. after a full charge, pack voltage shows 52.5 and each battery by them selves show 8.8. Rode the cart 100 yards after a full charge and the pack voltage has dropped to 50.5. any ideas of what to do next to try and figure this problem out?

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
Do you have any lights or other accessories that are taking power from the batteries all the time?

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
50.5v is >80% charge.
Is that reading right after driving? Does the voltage come up as it sets? |

@ ccfanatic. The cart does have lights but there not on when this happens.
@ gsf35099. I just checked the voltage and it says 51.7 I got 50.5 when I last rode it 2 hours ago |

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
Just a note to let y'all know. I started having the same problem with my old batteries but they were over 3 years old so I figured it ws the batteries going bad.

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
Looks to be reading just fine and where they should from my experience.
I think your pack is fine. |

My pack has always done what you describe & the battery geeks on here echo that is what they do. The SOC will climb back up as the battery rest. IMHO, you did not need to replace your batteries. |

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
I think the batteries are ok but I'm wondering if something else could be causing the short run time. When my old batteries were in good condition I could go 20 miles on one charge and the meter would not move off full until I went a mile or two and now the meter will go from full to half in a mile

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
@gsf35099: with my old batteries they slowly got to where they didn't last over a period of a couple months and when they got low the motor would hum a little. I Always checked the water level and kept cables clean. That's why I figured the batteries were getting bad. I never checked the voltage on my old batteries

Re: Batteries are losing voltage faster than they should
What is the pack voltage at rest - that is 12 hrs after the charger shuts off ,( also measure individual batt voltage with DVM) and has been un -plugged , then ride the cart 5 miles then read pack voltage -use a DVM , not the graph meter then , take individual battery voltage and post results
