Default precedent axle bearing cannot be replaced?

WTF ? I was going to change an axle bearing on a 2012 precedent. So I look up the service manual, and it says DO NOT REPLACE THE BEARING, REPLACE THE ENTIRE AXLE.

Whats up with that? The driver side rear wheel is really squeeking bad, so I was going to order a bearing and a seal. Wrong!!

Has anyone come across this situation? I have changes axle bearings before, no problem. But this sounds like a whole different animal.

I would appreciate some input from others.

Thanks

Oh you can change them, you just can't get them from Club Car or from a dealer. Take the axle out, press the bearing off, and take it to a bearing supply house and they can match it up for you.

Tahoe awesome! Will it be any harder than any other bearing change outs?

From looking at the parts manual, it almost looks like there are 2 bearings on each axle. Is there?

1 bearing per axle. Should be the same as any golf car bearing axle changeout. I've never had an issue with it.

Look for a 6000 series number on the side of the bearing (6204, 6005, ect), call a auto parts house, they can usually get them.

In SC, parts of Ga, NC and maybe more, there is a company called Bearing Distributors. They usually have more bearings than you will ever need made by different manufacturers. The fellas at the desk will tell you which ones are the best for your application.

My point being I would bet you can get a better part by going to a bearing store rather than just an auto parts store.

. . . auto parts stores carry the same brand bearings as large distributors, IMO . . . if you have a local Grainger or MSC, that would also be options . . . as long as you purchase "quality" bearings, no issues . . .

You urban guys kill me. Yeah, just stop by the friendly neighborhood bearing store and pick up the bearing!

I live in a smallish town and feel fortunate to have a couple of chain auto parts stores, a Walmart and a Home Depot. Otherwise, I order, scrounge or make everything for my carts. Not to mention the fact that both of my carts are housed on an island that is a 30-45 minute boat ride to the main land.

While I have no desire to live in an urban area, I admit some degree of envy regarding the ability to buy parts locally. What a luxury it would be to actually see a product before ordering it. This forum is a godsend for guys in my situation.

Guys, here is part of my dilemma with the axle bearing :

The cart is not mine, so I would like to have the parts ( bearings, seals) in hand, before I take it apart.

I don't want to take the axle apart, then find out I have to order the bearing, and possibly put the cart out of commission for a week or longer.

So I was hoping to get the part numbers before tearing into the cart.
I was looking at the parts manual, and it is confusing. They don't give part numbers for the axle bearings.
