Default Painting roof of CC

A friend of mine done some air brush work on the body of my 07 CC Precedent, but I did not know what to do with the beige top. Since the cart has the black plastic around the botton. I took the top and used Scotch Brite and Comet cleanser to scuff the top.then I sprayed it with Duplicolor bed liner in the spray cans. I dont know if they come i different colors or not. (I used black) It came out great! the color and the texture matched the bottom perfectly. Just thought i would post this as it may help someone.

Check this out I just did that to mine, worked great but I used Krylon truck bed liner, it was textured like the rest of the black plastic.

I had my body shop guy spray mine with gatorback when it was getting painted. It's the same stuff we use on Chevy Avalanche panels and bed covers when they fade out to gray. It's great stuff and extremely durable.

Miker did you scuff the top or just go straight on with the paint?

I know this is an old thread, but lots of guys with bed lined roofs here. Did you guys use adhesion promoter, or just spray the bed liner directly to the plastic?
