Default 95 Club Car DS Won't Run

Hi
I just purchased a 95 48 volt Club Car that was DOA. I knew that going in so I took a chance. The cart had been sitting in a garage for a few years. All of the batteries were dry and the a couple of the wires were corroded. I cleaned all the terminals and replaced the cables. I then filled all the batteries with distilled water and charged each on for 30 minutes (12 volt at 2 amps). I put it in forward and then reverse and it doesn't move. I can hear the accelerator click and the solenoid clicks. It appears to have a club car high speed motor (part # 101785702). I have checked all of the fuses and the wires and they all seem in good shape. I am not sure how to test the controller or I ma trying to figure out the next step in trying to find the problem.
I would really appreciate any help on this. I was hoping to take it out today for test drive
Thanks!!

There is a 99.999999% chance that your two year abandoned "dry" batteries are shot. Get a digital volt meter and measure the voltage of each. If they are not higher than 8 volts then batteries will be your first purchase.

The year and voltage of your cart is not nearly enough information for people to really help you. Club Car made a few different versions of 48v golf cart in '95. Pls locate your serial number (look in the "stickies" for guidance) and then post what version you've actually purchased.

That isn't enough charge even if the batteries are good which they probably are not! You need to load test them or at least measure the voltages of each battery. If even one of them is bad the cart won't run. (one weak link in a chain!)

The serial number is A9531 449357. The batteries have been charging about 12 hours now and the charger is now down to 7 amps. I thought the cart would at least move. If the charger does shut off, should it run?

You've got a first year 48v cart. If the charger shuts off, wait 12 hours then take a reading of the entire pack. It should be at least 50v. Then turn the cart on and step on the pedal when in forward. Leave your DVM connected and see how far the pack voltage drops. If it drops considerably, your batts are bad. Since they were dry they are more than likely shot. You may get a shudder when you hit the go pedal if they have a little voltage in them...

The definitive answer to that question is "maybe" - the charger will shut off (regardless whether they are holding a charge or not ) in 16 hours - at least it should if its working properly. At that point (even though the batteries should then be left to sit for 12 hours) you can take their individual voltages to see if they've partially recovered and attempt to drive the cart (if it moves don't go too far, I suspect you will run out of charge quickly unless you are very, very lucky with recovering the batteries). While your waiting, why not look at a couple of the diagrams which have been posted IN THIS ARTICLE and see if anything on your cart looks identical. Does your forward & reverse use a rocker switch or a lever?

Thanks-I have lever for the FNR. It is 95 it has the on board computer which I have already tried resetting.
I am trying to avoid purchasing new batteries and them finding out that it still doesn't run.
Is there a way to make sure the controller is working properly?

Ok, it's a series if it has a lever.
You could find another 48v cart and jump the pack over to yours just to see if the cart moves. Batteries really are the heart of a cart, so if you want a good running cart you will have to buy batteries eventually.

Very hard to troubleshoot most everything without a minimum 49.5v (or so) on the system. Lets hope you get enough voltage to proceed with checking other things.
