Amp readings different on two chargers
Hi I have two different CC power drive 48v chargers one is 2001 and the other is 1997. I installed brand set of new T875's. The 1997 charger reads 13 amps and 49.9v at the heat sink to amp meter. The 2001 reads 6 amps and 43.3 v. Both are the same model 17 amp charger why the different readings.?

Re: Amp readings different on two chargers
Perhaps the OBC is asking for different charger duty cycles based on what it "sees" from the pack? Just a guess.

Re: Amp readings different on two chargers
This is the same Clubcar with the battery gage at half, using two different chargers with two different results. Is it a transformer issue? Is it better to put higher amp to charge or lower to charge?

Re: Amp readings different on two chargers
The one reading 6 amps at 43.3 volts will never fully charge your pack. Theres more than likely an issue with the charger itself.

Re: Amp readings different on two chargers
Maybe one diode is broken on the 43.3 volt vehicle.. (It happens often.) Cheap fix.

Re: Amp readings different on two chargers
Hi I checked the diode and it is good with the diode setting on my meter. Does the reading mean any thing? One set is reading .466 and the other .443.?

Re: Amp readings different on two chargers
Hi I found that one of the diodes was loose at the heat sink I tried to solder it back no good, I just smoothed the contact point and put tension on it put it back together. I ran the Club car around a lot and plugged it into the charger I was working on and now the amp meter reads 13 amp and it is putting out 50.2 v to the batteries. Happy now Mike out
