Re: average speed
I have an 03 DS IQ and according to my GPS 18 mph was my top speed. That's with 22x11x8 mud tires.

Re: average speed
You may be losing throttle percentage due to some wear in your pedal linkage. It is typical for them to only reach 90-95% throttle, the worst I've ever seen was at 70%. When you are doing nearly 20 mph, 10% is a big difference.

Re: average speed
Hey Tim......... I'm glad to see sombody else here knows about this. I never hear anything about it. But there is a definate wear problem on the MCOR linkage that will never let it go to full throttle if the linkage pins are worn.

Re: average speed
what exactly am I looking for on this linkage - I've been under the cart and it looks fine, i can't really see any wear on the pedal linkage. Does anybody have a picture? Or should I be testing any area for "play" in the parts? It all seems tight to me.
thanks |

Re: average speed
bill-e-boy.............
Before you start taking the linkage apart, a 2006 is too new to have hardly any wear at all. Also, for an IQ, 14 miles per hour is top speed (+ or - 1mph for stock tires) for the "speed 3 position. If you take the cart to an Authorized Club Car service center, they will charge you about $75.00 to put your cart in "Speed 4" mode. It is done with a programmer that reads the serial number of the controller and they will have to call Club Car to turn in the information. Then, Club Car mails the information packet with the code numbers to enter for your controller, to access the 4th speed, and a couple of stickers to place on the cart to signify the cart speed has been modified to a higher that golf course speed and a bar code sticker of the shops name who did the work. |

Re: average speed
One more thing.......... Some shops, Some shops, do not charge anything the set the unit from speed 2 to speed 3. If you bought it from a dealer, they may not charge you for the next setting. It takes all of 2 minutes if the connections are clean. Yours probably will be.
