CC DS frame
I have my cart lifted with high torque motor and 700 amp controller it runs great and will stop great once I get the harsh environment brake pads and rotors installed. My only issue is it seems the frame keeps breaking the welds in the front, we aren't beating the cart but there is to " humps and hills " we have to climb the twists the body a bit but nothing I would consider hard running. Has anyone beefed up their chassis and if so can you post photos?

Re: CC DS frame
I brought home a DS a few weeks ago,and the entire cowl is flopping, all the lower braces are sheared off at the rail.Very common,I'm told too.

Re: CC DS frame
It's super common for DS carts to break in the front end, especially the rail behind where the front cowl meets the floor, both sides tend to break right there. The front piece of C channel will sometimes break away from the frame at the welds also. The fix I've employed for the break at the cowl area is to use a piece of aluminum flat stock and weld it running with the rail across the break in the aluminum. For up at the front of the frame I usually clean it up, grind it down a bit, and re-weld. (have it done rather, I can't weld aluminum)
The frames flex when you're on uneven ground due to the lack of travel in the stock suspension, and you're left with cracked aluminum framework in the front end. |

Re: CC DS frame
Yep,Aluminum and Flex = Cracks!! When I worked in the fab-shop,we always said the only good thing about using aluminum was carrying it!!!

Re: CC DS frame
Lol, rust problems, no rust here, cracked & corroded CCs but no rust.

Yes that's my point I've seen enough guys have to tear their ez-go completely down to the frame scrape & sandblast, rebuild, prime and paint their frames to only have them rust again. No thanks
