Default Head light and Battery for 2004 Club Car

Good morning everyone.

So last night I took a spin with my kids on the golf cart. This was the really first time that I have driven it at night time. We took it for a spin about 2 1.5 hours before it turn dark. I turned on the light. The light was not bright when the golf cart was on the go. When I stopped, the light was very bright.

Question....is the battery getting bad, or the previous owner connect the light wrong?

Thanks for all of y'all help :-)

Does your cart have 12v or 8v batts? Someone may have the lights hooked to one battery, and that is why they dim while the cart is moving. A voltage reducer uses the entire pack and keeps a constant 12v to the lights.

Hi Jake,

It's 8v - so i have 6 - 8v = 48v...I don't think it's connected to reducer. I need to check.

Thanks,

So the lights must be hooked to two of the batteries. That's not good for a few reasons: uneven pack draw, 16v going to 12v lights, and dimming while driving...

Scottyb at Cartsunlimted (site sponsor) sells a great 30 amp reducer:
