Re: Speed code 5? This work??
I think I recall someone on this site has tried it - but I don't recall his reporting back the result. Its obviously some sort of controller "workaround". I read on their ad that if you have code 4 programmed (19.6mph) it will knock the controller back to code 3 - so if it didn't work and you removed it, you'd be back to about 14mph and would need to visit your local dealer to restore code 4. I think if somebody really got 28mph with it, we'd have heard more about it! I suspect its more likely you'd end up at 20mph or so - similar to code 4. Hopefully the person who tried it will see this and respond. As to whether it could damage your controller you'd need to know what the black box is actually doing (eg. reverse engineer the electronics).

Re: Speed code 5? This work??
Agreed, I had a code 4 programed on my cart and it would do 19mph

Yeah kinda weird I agree! Yeah I am at 19-20 with the magnet trick on the motor and larger tires. But wondered if this would get me more.

Re: Speed code 5? This work??
I have it and its amazing what just a few mph difference can be when covering distance. I went fro the stock speed of code 3 to about 19mph. I see 18-20 on top speed depending on weight of people and breeze. I drive 5 miles each way to work on it and the time savings has really added up. I like it for what it is, just a simple software thing and no magical pill for 25mph...but the addiction has bite and speed is on the mind now. Neighbors cant usually keep up or I can pass them every so slightly on the straights and they all ask what I have done :)
I tried the torque first and I don't know if there was a difference, I think there was but top speed was no different. I bought it for top speed so I flashed that and never went back. |
